Quick answer

After you enquire with Air Business Loans, a real person reviews your details and contacts you, usually quickly during business hours. They ask a few practical questions, explain likely options and what the lender will need, typically ID and business bank statements shared securely online. You then review any offer, ask questions and decide. A credit check only happens if you choose to proceed.

Key points

  • A real person reviews every enquiry and contacts you.
  • No credit check happens until you choose to proceed.
  • Statements are usually shared through a secure, read-only link.
  • You can stop at any point before signing.

Submitting an enquiry can feel like sending something into the void, particularly if you have dealt with comparison sites that passed your details to a dozen companies. Our process is deliberately different. Here is exactly what happens after you hit submit, so you know what to expect, what you will be asked and how to make the whole process as quick and painless as possible.

Step 1: a real person reads it

Your enquiry goes to a specialist, not a call centre script or an automated auction. They read what you need, what it is for, how long you have traded, your turnover, whether you own property and anything you have told us about credit or tax. Your details are not sent to a list of lenders.

Step 2: we get in touch

The specialist contacts you, usually quickly during business hours, by phone or message. The call may come from a number you do not recognise, so keep an eye on your phone. If you mentioned a deadline, they will factor it in.

Step 3: a practical conversation

Expect a short, practical chat. Typical questions include:

  • What exactly is the money for, and when do you need it?
  • How does the business earn, and how do customers pay?
  • What existing loans, leases or tax arrangements do you have?
  • What repayment would feel comfortable each week?
  • Do you own property, and would you consider using it?

There are no trick questions and no wrong answers. The aim is to understand your situation well enough to suggest options that genuinely fit. And if a loan would make things worse rather than better, the specialist will say so plainly.

Step 4: options explained

Based on the conversation, the specialist explains the likely options: the type of facility, a realistic amount range, how fast it could move and what the lender will need. Sometimes there is one obvious path; sometimes there are two or three to compare, each with different speed, cost and flexibility, and the specialist will explain the trade-offs plainly.

Step 5: sharing documents

If you want to proceed, the next step is usually sharing business bank statements through a secure, read-only link, plus photo ID. Larger amounts may need an ATO portal statement or financials; secured loans need property details. Our documents checklist covers the full list, and our guide on sharing bank statements securely explains how the connection works.

Step 6: assessment and credit check

The lender assesses your statements and business details. When you choose to proceed with a specific option, the lender will usually run a credit check. You will know before it happens. See does enquiring affect my credit score?.

Step 7: the offer

If approved, you receive an offer setting out the amount, term, repayments, total repayable, fees and conditions. Read it properly. Use the repayment estimator to translate the offer into a weekly figure, and raise any line you do not fully understand before you sign. Our guide on comparing business loan offers has a checklist.

Step 8: signing

If you are happy, documents are signed electronically. For property-secured loans, there may be additional documents for property owners.

Step 9: funding

Once the last checks clear, the money lands in your business account. Smaller unsecured facilities can go from enquiry to funded inside one business day if nothing is missing. With property security, $20k–$250k can sometimes settle on the same day, while amounts up to $5m can be possible in 24–48 hours. See how fast a business loan can be funded.

You can stop at any point

An enquiry is not an application or a commitment. You can pause or stop at any stage before signing. If the options are not right, or circumstances change, simply tell your specialist.

How to make it faster

  • Answer the form accurately, especially amount, purpose, turnover and property.
  • Mention any deadline.
  • Keep your phone handy.
  • Have ID and internet banking access ready.
  • Disclose existing debts and tax arrangements upfront.

Our guide on preparing for a lender call has a short checklist for the first conversation.

What we do not do

We do not spray your details across the market, sell your information or run a credit check when you enquire. We do not pressure you to sign, and we do not ask for upfront fees to release a loan. If anyone claiming to represent us does, treat it as a scam and contact us through our website.

If the answer is not yet

Sometimes the honest answer is that funding is not available right now, or not on terms that would help. When that happens, the specialist will explain why and what would change the picture, such as a few more months of trading history, lodging outstanding BAS, consolidating existing debts or reducing the amount. Many businesses come back a few months later in a much stronger position, with a clear plan made during that first conversation.

Keeping in touch during the process

Once your file is moving, your specialist is your single point of contact. Reply to the messages they send rather than starting a new enquiry, so everything stays together. If anything changes, such as a customer paying early, a new debt or a different amount, let them know straight away so the lender is working with current information.

Your information and privacy

Everything you share during the process is used to understand your needs and arrange suitable funding. It is not sold, and it is only shared with a lender that fits your situation, with your knowledge. Bank statement connections are read-only and you choose which accounts to share. If you have questions about how your information is handled, our privacy policy sets it out, and your specialist can explain how each step works before you take it.

An illustrative walkthrough

An illustrative cafe owner enquires mid-morning for $25k to replace refrigeration. A specialist calls within the hour, confirms the quote and asks about existing finance. The owner connects her business account and sends a photo of her licence. By early afternoon the lender has assessed the file; she agrees to proceed, the credit check is clean and the offer arrives. She reviews it, asks one question about the payout terms, signs on her phone and the funds are paid that afternoon.

Ready when you are

The process is designed to be quick, clear and pressure-free. There is no credit check to enquire, your details are not passed to a pile of lenders, and a real person reads every enquiry. Please fill the form in accurately so we can match you properly first time. Apply now.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will someone contact me?

Usually quickly during business hours. If your enquiry is urgent, say so in the form so it can be prioritised.

Will I be pressured to take a loan?

No. The conversation is about understanding your situation and explaining options. You decide whether to proceed.

What if borrowing is not the right answer?

We will tell you. Sometimes a payment plan, better terms with customers or suppliers, or simply waiting is the better choice.

Can I enquire for someone else's business?

Enquiries should come from an owner, director or authorised person, because identity and business details must match the applicant.

Prefer to do it right here?
